Why frame something?

When a customer walks in to a picture framer, they will have many things on their minds. At the moment, I think, cost is one of the biggest.

True enough, picture framing is a service that isn’t always super cheap. Supermarkets sell frames, so why bother?!

Where do I begin?

I know it’s the job we do, but honestly, there is nothing better than choosing that perfect frame for a picture. It’s not like you can nip in to the supermarket with your special piece, is it? And what happens when you decide on a frame but your picture is not a standard size? Then it really is a case of trying to make something fit.

Many a time have we have work in which has been winched in to its frame or is swimming around with loads of extra space. That’s what I used to do, so I get it! But imagine this…you come in to the gallery, you have the special picture with you and you set it down on the counter, knowing that from now on, whatever happens, what you will get at the end will be totally made just for you, for your art work and to match the colour schemes you have on your walls?

So, it might cost a little extra, but it’s totally worth it, we promise you.

Once you start - once you see the results of a framer taking your work and making it look just exactly the way you would like, supermarkets will always have a place, but it might not be for your art work!
